WHAT THIS MEANS IN DRUPAL

An agent is bounded multi-step reasoning that calls Tools. In Drupal that is an AI Agents plugin, configured or derived from an OSSA manifest (R) Rule B standard §3.

OWNER

  • Execution loop: ai_agents (R) capability map.
  • Manifest to agent derivation: ai_agents_ossa, Bluefly-authored, alpha, SHRINK; CONTRIBUTE_UPSTREAM (O) package map.
  • What the agent can do: Tool API plugins (R) Rule C.
  • Manifests and agent cards: metadata only (R) Rule F.

PREREQUISITES

  1. (P) The task needs reasoning. If it is deterministic, use ECA, not an agent (R, reference) architecture ref.
  2. (P) The tools exist (Tool Belt or #[Tool]).

DO THIS

  1. (P) Check OSSA templates first; import the manifest (R) standard §9.
  2. (P) Grant least-privilege tools (R, reference) architecture ref.
  3. (P) Human approval for publish, config mutation, deletion, deploy (R, reference) architecture ref.

WATCH FOR

  • AI Agents is stable and security-covered; restrict tools and permissions (O, dated) architecture ref.
  • ai_agents_ossa has hard dependencies to remove (O) package map.

  • Custom ReAct loop or agent framework (R) Rule B.
  • Logic inside a registry or manifest processor (R) Rule F.
  • Agents calling services directly instead of Tools (R) Rule C.

OWNERSHIP / CAN-SHOULD-MAY

  • CAN: AI Agents admin, manifest import.
  • SHOULD: OSSA manifest defines the agent; Drupal executes it; DUADP discovers it.
  • MUST: agents run as their own machine identity, never Thomas's (R) secrets constitution §5.

DO NOT REDISCOVER

  • OSSA is the definition contract, not a runtime (R) Rule F.
